In a tweet published on Friday, July 30, 2020 on his Twitter account, Egyptian businessmen Naguib Sawiris attacked the Tunisian Heart Bloc and party leader Nabil Karoui because of the vote against the no-confidence list from People's Assembly Speaker Rashid Ghannouchi.
Sawiris said: “May God be with Tunisia ... Some of the deputies sold their conscience and sold their country to the Devil… The Heart of Tunisia party has to change its name, so Tunisia is now without a heart and betrayed it from those who have no heart or conscience.” The reference here is clear to the president of the Tunisian heart, Nabil Karoui.
Knowing that the Egyptian businessman is a shareholder in the capital of Nessma TV, owned by the brothers Nabil and Ghazi Al-Karoui, through the Prima complex, which he owns with the Tunisian-French businessman Tariq Bin Ammar.
On the political level, Naguib Sawiris is an opponent of the Muslim Brotherhood movement in Egypt. He is credited with the liberal and modernist forces in Egypt and has many investments in the fields of communications, media and culture. He is known for his close ties to writers, artists and movie stars.
